Dynamic processes in geospace
Dynamic processes in geospace
Editor(s): I. A. Daglis, C.-P. Escoubet, B. Mauk, and G. Balasis
This special issue addresses long-standing research topics of Dynamic Processes in Geospace. Acceleration, transport and loss in the energetic geospace (ring current and radiation belts), Transient Processes in the Magnetotail and in the Plasma Sheet, The Role of Cold Plasma in Geospace Dynamics, upstream Transient Phenomena and Their Effects on Geospace, are some of the topics of the special issue. The "Geospace Revisited: A joint Cluster/MAARBLE/Van Allen Probes Conference", held on 15–20 September 2014 in Rhodes, Greece, was devoted to these research topics. The conference was very successful, gathering more than 150 participants from 26 countries and comprised 5 topical sessions and a special session on highlights from the Cluster and Van Allen Probes missions and from the MAARBLE project. We invite the conference participants and other researchers to submit their results to this special issue of Annales Geophysicae.
